The Regional Business Plan

Clackamas, Clark, Multnomah, and Washington.

Four Counties. Two states. Many cities. Each city and county has its unique features, interests, and challenges, as do the states of Oregon and Washington. In economic terms however, we are one region.

Ninety-seven percent of those who work here live here; ninety-eight percent of those who live here work here.

This four-county Portland-Vancouver economy operates in competition with metropolitan regions across the country and throughout the world. Our economic prosperity depends on our ability to compete successfully as a region, transcending local political boundaries, and capitalizing on our distinctive economic strengths and assets.

The Regional Business Plan brings together businesses from throughout the four-county Portland-Vancouver metropolitan region to build, lead, and carry out a common plan for long-term economic prosperity and global competitiveness.

The primary mission of this effort is straightforward: quality jobs for the people of this region.

The Regional Business Plan provides a common framework for the business community, working with government, to meet the challenge of global economic competitiveness and create quality jobs across the entirety of this unique four-county, two state region.
